Prophylactic Antibiotic Information

There is a small possibility of getting an infection around your implant that may lead to capsular contracture in the following situations:

  • Any dental procedure that may involve bleeding
  • Tattoos
  • Piercings
  • Colonoscopy
  • Any infection, including mastitis
  • Tonsillectomy
  • Genitourinary instrumentation
  • Bladder surgery
  • GYN surgery

Prophylactic antibiotics are recommended before any of the above procedures. You should notify your attending physician or dentist prior to having any of these procedures to obtain a prescription for antibiotics. 

There is no time limit on this recommendation.
